In a participatory learning environment, students are active contributors and learn from one another, as well as from their teacher. Participatory learning is fostered in social media environments that are integral to the lives of nearly all college students. This workshop will demonstrate how VoiceThread, a cloud application which is free to students, can be used to create warm, asynchronous participatory learning that extends options to students by allowing them to comment in voice, video or text from a computer, land line, or mobile device.
